A Parent's Guide to Browser Games
If your teen asks to play "games in the browser," here's the plain version — and what we do to keep PlaycadeHub a calm corner of the internet.
What "instant-play" means
These games run inside a web page. There's nothing to download, install, or sign up for — you open the page and play. That removes two common risks of app-store gaming: drive-by installs and accounts that collect a child's profile.
How we keep it brand-safe
- Age gate: visitors confirm they're 13+ on first visit. Under-13 visitors are politely turned away (see how it works).
- Editor-curated: every game is written up by us in original copy and load-tested; we don't auto-aggregate unknown titles.
- Tiered ads: we favor partners with age-appropriate ads and label any sponsored placement.
- No chat, no accounts: there is no comment section, no user login, and no social graph to manage here.
The few things worth watching
- Live multiplayer ("io" games): some connect to other players. They're best on a trusted home network, not a school one.
- Ads inside embeds: partners may show their own ads. If something looks off, close the tab — it's their page, not ours.
- Network filters: schools often block game domains. Our Campus-Tested list covers the ones that usually get through.
